Sir Bobby Charlton and Roy Keane watched the Premier League match between Everton and Manchester United at Goodison Park.

"We gave away two terrible goals. But I thought prior to that we passed the ball brilliantly well. We kept the ball and had great control of the game. What we couldn’t do was create enough chances. They were two poor goals to give away, both on the break. We didn’t have a final through-pass or the final finish when the chances came, and there weren’t very many of them. So that was the disappointing part, that we couldn’t do that. The job is to win football matches. There is a lot talked about style, but it’s more important to win, and we didn’t do that."

"Danny Welbeck’s really important to me and I really value him. As you well know, there have been lots of stories (regarding Welbeck’s future). I can only tell you Danny Welbeck is really important - to me and to Manchester United."

"I think Danny is someone who is still finding his way to be a regular all the time. He’s a regular for England and is a really talented player. I had a word with him about a couple of things and he’s working on it to try to do things better and more (often). I’m sure he will achieve that. Danny will improve with his age and with more games. He’ll get better."

"It’s difficult, the fact we’ve lost five games, but we won’t give up. We want to keep going to the end and the most important thing is when we put the Manchester United shirt on and go out at Old Trafford or away from home, we make sure we give everything as players."

"I thought it was Shinji’s best game in my time here. He hadn’t really found his feet yet but I saw something from Shinji which I hadn’t seen in other games, so I was really pleased. His effort when we didn’t have the ball was fantastic. With Shinji, everybody tells me about his ability and what he has got, but tonight is the first time I’ve really seen Shinji. I thought when we put him into the no.10 role, and even after it, he was good with Wayne. His attitude and energy were excellent and I was pleased for him."

"He was absolutely terrific. We just want a top player like Wayne to play well, and he is. I have said from day one that he was great, his training was great and he looks in really good shape. We trained him hard to get him as good as possible, and I think that not only Manchester United but England are seeing that as well."

"Our defending was particularly good. Obviously a clean sheet is really pleasing and we created a lot of chances."
